The Last Palaver

Today, the sisters said good-bye. Not very sweetly, not very well, not the way they had imagined, but they said good-bye. Life isn't always what we want. It is what it is.

Postscript: Aunt Helen called Saturday morning to talk with Mom. Helen thoroughly enjoyed her time here in Texas and is ready for another visit! Mom talked sweetly and happily with her sister for some time on the phone.

  1. So sorry for mom. Dementia is an evil curse in Satan's arsenal of weapons. I hope that mom will be able to have some good conversations in the future with her sister after Aunt Helen settles back into her home and forgets the last week... Or just remember her sister in her fullness of mind and body.

  2. My friend said recently that one of the good things about getting older is you forget who you are supposed to be mad at! Thankful that Mom and Aunt Helen are experiencing that!
