One of the really nice things about living in the same town as your parents is that your children get to grow up knowing their grandparents. I've been poring over pictures as Karis nears graduation. We need photos for a graduation slideshow, senior table, senior issue of school newsletter, and yearbook page.
I love that we started here.
And got to here.
And here.

Love the pictures! So happy that your kids got to grow up with the grandparents. That is one of my regrets, that I didn't visit often enough with my kids. Now I have a 5 year old in Boston that is keeping me accountable, and demanding to know when the next Gma-Gpa visit is, so maybe in the next generation we will do better!
ReplyDeleteAh, sister. We all have regrets. Somewhere in my reading, I came across a quote to the effect that the only people who don't have regrets are those who either set the bar very low or have a very inflated view of themselves.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard enough to get time with Mom and Dad, living in the same town. I can't imagine the added complication of living far away. And still Mom says, "Don't come." We should get her one of those funny doormats that instead of saying "Welcome", says "Go Away!"
Gwen, what treasures! One of my heartbreaks is my fear that my youngest two won't remember their grandfathers, that they never really got a chance to know them - and that my oldest two won't remember a time before Papa and Bobby were sick.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your children had that time with your parents.
